Button [Search ECLA] |
|
Hi Bruno,
I have a new asking about classification codes because they are one of the most important keys to make MP much more user friendly:
You know that Espacenet has an ECLA search facility http://l2.espacenet.com/eclasrch to help users identifying the best ECLA groups for a topic. This is a very good tool to execute before beginning a search, and it really saves time centering the search. I use it a lot.
Now users of MP have a [Test my request] button to know how many results has a predefined search strategy. This is a good tool but it does not help to know if the results will be centered or not.
In fact most of times the REAL problem is to know what codes to choose ... or if there would be a code covering a topic...
So it would be great if you can integrate the ECLA search in the search form with a button [Search ECLA]. This button could be located on left of Title field. So the user types some keywords in the title, clicks on the button and then MP opens a navigator page with the best ECLA codes.
... I think that it is really easy to implement and it would be a good improvement ... what do you think?

Hi Juan I did what you mentioned all the time I used espacenet to find out the ecla code and used MP to do the search but I never can give any good idea to Bruno. You are really the source of good to MP. I have an idea for uspc for MP. Can Bruno implement the function of IPC for USPC. The function I mentioned is when you click on the IPC code it will display the IPC code title in the display below. I found the information for USPC class title http://library.queensu.ca/webeng/USPC_Class_Titles.pdf. Hope this can be any help.
regards,

Hi Bruno and Bruce,
WIPO has a "little" utility but really it is a "killer application" to connect different databases using an IPC Code as the link key.
It is called "IPC Bridge" and I think that probably can be linked from MP.
It shows a little window with many possibilities for any IPC code. The IPC Code has to be clicked in WIPO IPC classification available at http://www.wipo.int/classifications/ipc/ipc8/?lang=en. The offered possibilities are:
- Link to IPC8 National versions in Czech, Dutch, German, Japanese and Spanish (we start from the English version)
- Link to do a IPC search of the code in the following databases: PCT, Espacenet, USPTO and JOPAL
- Link to correspondence to other classifications: USPC and ECLA.
---
As an example, if we like to work with IPC Code= H01T13/46, first we have to reformat to "H01T0013460000".
Then the url of the IPC Bridge window is:
http://www.wipo.int/classifications/ipc/ipc8/popup.htm?ipc=H01T0013460000&level=a&edition=e20070101;a20070101;c20060101
So my asking is: Could you link any IPC code taken from Mpatent > Analysis > IPC > [right click] IPC Bridge > to open this window?
If you do it, this is what I'm asking when I say "View IPC code on the web" ... but in my language!!
... Bruno, try it please!!! ...

Hi Bruno,
According to my criteria, I think that there are two steps to do:
1- Link to IPC8 instead of IPC7 (IMPORTANT and URGENT)
2- personalise the language (Not so important - urgent)
So I'd like to ask you to concentrate in linking to IPC8 asap
thanks _________________ Juan Carlos Vergara |
