| Saved Searches + Dynamic Groups |
|
Hi Bruno,
I try to describe a usual problem in "complex projects" or in "permanent projects". In both cases, the contents of the project change along the time:
1.- I do a search in Espacenet/USPTO
2.- then I usually create groups by doing local searches.
3.- I begin reviewing/evaluating the results of the groups
4.- Then I realise that I have to do complementary searches in Espacenet/USPTO
=> I do complementary searches in Espacenet/USPTO
=> Also, a period of time passes, so I update all the searches
At the end I have always two problems:
- to remember the local searches (exactly)
- to execute and rebuild again and again the same groups
So I have three suggestions related to "local searches" to minimize the problem:
level a) Could you implement a button "save local search"? In this way a user can save/repeat/improve usual searches (eg to create groups) and also it is possible to apply in different projects.
level b) Could you implement a button "save with a group"? In this way the search is saved as a property of a "static group" => so the user can update a group automatically when necessary.
level c) Could you implement a button "create dynamic group"? I mean a "dynamic filter" or "a group linked to the search" so if the user completes/updates the search in Espacenet/USPTO, then the contents of the "dynamic group" are also updated.
To me, the difference in groups between levels are :
Level a) MP has static groups with searches defined by a list of Patent numbers
level b) MP has static groups with searches defined by a list of Patent numbers + a list of other search expressions
level c) MP has ALSO dynamic groups with searches defined by a list of Patent numbers + a list of other search expressions
I think that all levels are compatible and a need to advanced users doing searches systematically

Hi Bruno,
I have just done the following:
0.- execute a search in Espacenet and download patent data
0.- do a local search => review of results and check pertinence
0.- complete local search => review of results and check pertinence
--
1.- copy local search expression
2.- highlight all patents
3.- add to a new group
4.- Comment: paste local search expression
5.- Name: write name of group
My question:
- Could you add a button near search box to "create search group"?
Tasks to do: 1-2-3-4
Then the user just has to write the name.
