Insufficient Memory |
|
Hi Bruno,
I have a file on MP and when I try to open it I get the "insufficient memory" error message. Is there a work around?

Hi,
This message appears in MP generally when the file data.mp (database of your project) is corrupted.
But this message can be shown also if you try to open a project created by a MP's version > (superior) the version you use actually.
i.e. you use actually a 9.1 version and your project has been created by a 9.2 version.
Can you give me more information concerning the creation of this project ? date, version you think you used for this project, MP's version you use, etc... _________________ Regards / Cordialement

Thank you for your prompt reply. As usual.
I have created the file using MP9.2. I have in excess of 8k patents. The first time it happened I shut all other programs down but still no joy.
Eventually I renamed the .bak file .mp and it worked. I am not going to close the program until I finish the project.
It was interesting that the .mp file was 0Kb prior to me renaming the .bak file.
Thanks again for your prompt reply.
Merry Christmas. By the way the temperature here is going to be in the high twenties for the rest of the week.
Cheers

Bruno, just as well we don't want to go to the UK by train. I hear that Moscow is functioning as usual (what ever that means). They are used to cold winters. _________________ Robert E Kemp

Insufficient Memory Message |
|
Hi!
I am working on a big project (about 6,000 patents downloaded), and I can't open it. The message "Inssufficient memory" appears.
I have tried to use the .bak file, but it does not have the last changes that I have been working on during the day.
What can I do for not to lose my work?
Thank you very much,
Areli |

Insufficient memory |

Dear Areli,
I have had this problem before and I still get it from time to time.
As I am usually able to save my file before I close the program my work is saved. The problem arises when I try to open it again.
One thing that I did successfully was to change the .bak file to the .mp file. I was able to open the file then.
Another thing that I found was that sometimes the file wouldn't open and other times it would. It is frustrating but to get a file the size that we do we have put a lot of work into it. It's worth trying.
Perhaps it would be worth sending the file to Bruno so he can study the problem. Have a look at the yousendit.com website for large emails.
Good luck

Dear,
Do you think you could send the data.mp and setup.ini file of your project to support@matheo-software.com ? Please compress them before send them.
We can affirm you we can solve the problem but we will try.
Could you tell me what happends ? Do you stop MP during a process or other ? _________________ Regards / Cordialement

Insufficient Memory |
|
Dear Bruno:
This is Areli again. I had this problem ("Insufficiente Memory") last year, and I am having it again. My administrator in Mexico says that it could be that my computer doesn't have enough RAM memory. Do you think that this could be possible, or should I try again to do what we did last year (changing the .bak file to .mp file)?
Thank you for your kind help!

Dear Areli,
I think it's not a memory problem because MPatent don't use enough memory to reach the windows limit.
Do you have close a project without use "Close" menu?
The error memory comes when a project is corrupted.
You have to use the .bak file. _________________ Regards / Cordialement

Dear Bruno:
I worked again!! Thank you so much. javascript:emoticon(' ')
Just one more question: Now that I have converted my .bak file into the .mp file, will Matheo Patent keep creating a backup, or should I do it now manually?
Thank you!
