searching for country with [XX] codificacion

I am conducting a search where I want to identify patents from a certain country origin of the applicants (regardless in which country they where filed) using the country tags in ESPACENET [XX], for example using [es] in the applicant field retrievs all docs filed by spanish applicants. I want to use this search in Matheo Patent XE, but for some reasons it does not work, since Matheo does not seem to recognize the [] caracters and retrieves everything with ES even when uses with "". Is there a way to restrict the search to recognize [ES]?

sorry for the late reply,

Actually we work to update our database with more fields like Country of Inventor, Applicant, or date fields for AN PR.

So with the current database it's not really possible to search by app/inv country but you can try:

in advanced mode:
inc:\[ES\]

Be carreful because if you have a app/inv with " ES " (space around ES) it will give as answer.
